BEARDED IRIS
SITUATION: Sunny and well drained, in a well manured soil prepared in the same way as for Tulips, Hyacinths, etc. These Iris seem to thrive in areas with cold to frosty winters. TIME OF PLANTING: March to June. Keep the top of the rhizomes just below the soil surface. Space 30-40cm apart. WHILE GROWING: Spray to control against aphids or fungal diseases if necessary. DIGGING & STORING: These Iris can be left undisturbed for 3-4 years. Rhizomes can be divided in autumn if desired. Store in a cool, dry position if unable to replant immediately.
