RUSSELL LUPINS
SITUATION: A sunny and well drained position. Lupins do not need a rich soil. Use only a little fertiliser, preferably one that is not too high in nitrogen, as too much can produce more foliage rather than flowers. An application of lime can be beneficial. Lupins are best grown in cool climate regions. TIME OF PLANTING: June to August. Plant with the top of the crown 1-2 cm under the soil surface and space 50-60 cm apart. GENERAL CARE: Apart from regular watering during dry spells, no other special treatment is necessary. Lupins are also suitable for use as cut flowers.
