LILY OF THE VALLEY—Convallaria
SITUATION: Will grow in full shade, semi-shade or any other cool position in the garden where they can be left to naturalise. Feed generously with well-rotted animal manure. TIME OF PLANTING: June to August. Plant 3-5 cm deep laying them horizontally and space 10 cm apart. GENERAL CARE: Watch for aphids, snails or slugs and control if necessary. Water well during spring and summer. Top dress with plenty of well-rotted animal manure each winter. DIGGING AND STORING: Best left undisturbed but if necessary, lift and divide during winter months when dormant. Replant immediately or store temporarily in a moist peat or sphagnum moss.
