HELLEBORUS
SITUATION: This evergreen perennial is suitable for sunny or semi-shaded positions and likes a moist, rich soil. Some well-rotted animal manure, complete fertiliser or similar can be used to enrich the soil. TIME OF PLANTING: June to August. Plant with the top of the crowns just below the surface and space 40-50 cm apart. GENERAL CARE: Likes moist soil conditions. Watch for snails and slugs and control if necessary. The flowers are suitable for cutting. Top dress with fertiliser each autumn. Lift and divide during winter if necessary.
